Description of the Board of Claims
The Board of Claims is both a judicial and an independent administrative agency.
The Board of Claims, as it is now known, was created October 5, 1978, according
to legislative Act 260 (PDF format) and supersedes the former Board of Arbitration of Claims. The Board of Claims has jurisdiction to hear and determine contract claims against the Commonwealth.
